Gary Kahler was the third President of the Permian Basin Builders Association (PBBA). After he passed away in 2011, the PBBA Scholarship Program has renamed the “Gary Kahler Memorial Scholarship Fund” in his honor. The fund provides scholarships to students from within the 14-county PBBA jurisdiction, particularly those seeking a career in construction or a construction-related field.
Scholarships are awarded to deserving individuals by the Professional Women in Building, a Council of the Permian Basin Builders Association. In 2017, the Gary Kahler Memorial Scholarship was granted 501c3 non-profit status from the IRS.
In 2020, scholarships of $1500 will be awarded to area students for the fall and spring semesters. Previous scholarship recipients are welcome to apply.
To apply for this scholarship a student must:
Have or will have a high school diploma or GED prior to attendance of college, university or trade school.
Be a U.S. citizen or a naturalized citizen.
Qualified applicants may be contacted for an interview.
